Change Consultant Stuart Corrigan

Stuart Corrigan
Managing Director

Stuart offers a decade of experience across the realms of organisational change, performance management and leadership using the Vanguard Method.  He has worked with companies across a wide range of industries in the UK, US and other European countries offering them consultancy, coaching and training.

He founded Vanguard Scotland Ltd in 1997.  After listening to John Seddon, the architect of the Vanguard Method at one of John’s seminars, Stuart realised what he had been doing as a manager was fundamentally wrong.  He left his job with one of the world’s largest training organisation to start Vanguard Scotland Ltd. in 1997 with a passion to make a difference in service organisations in the UK.

Stuart has also established himself as a professional speaker who presents a fresh perspective on leadership and management practices.  He has spoken at many events and has built a reputation of being a challenging and thought-provoking presenter who offers a clear message for delegates to go away with and put it to practise.

Change Consultant Denise Toscani

Denise Toscani
Director

Denise is the co-founder of Vanguard Scotland.  Before becoming the Director of Vanguard Scotland she worked in one of Edinburgh’s top financial institutions and was one of their top performing managers.  This allows her to understand first hand the issues and challenges that managers are facing in leading and managing organisations.

She has facilitated a large number of interventions using the Vanguard Method in the Police, Justice Systems, Housing Repairs, Property Maintenance, Social & Health Care and Pensions amongst others which have produced outstanding results.  She believes that the key to these outstanding achievements is the understanding that these clients gained from the Vanguard Method to help them think about the design and management of work from a different perspective.

Denise also delivers workshops which are highly popular such as process mapping which has allowed many clients to apply at their work place to have a high level view of what’s happening within their systems.

Change Consultant Keith Bennett

Keith Bennett

Prior to joining Vanguard, Keith worked as a consultant in a variety of business improvement fields.  He booked Vanguard’s founder - John Seddon - to speak at a Network Meeting he was organising and had a ‘road to Damascus’ experience.

When John asked the audience – ‘how do you set a target so that it’s not an arbitrary measure?’ Keith realised that he had been working on all ‘the wrong things’ for the previous 20 years.

He read ‘Freedom from Command and Control’ in the days following the Network meeting and realised that he had to stop ‘working on the people’ in his client organisations and start to learn the Vanguard method.

As Keith says:
“Since joining Vanguard I now realise that if you want to achieve massive performance improvement you must ‘work on the work with the worker’ – you have to give up the notion that working on the people will really change an organisation. I have never done such rewarding consultancy work as I’m doing now – I constantly see clients achieving improvement beyond their wildest expectations: service improves, costs fall and their people are happier!”

As a Vanguard consultant, Keith has transformed businesses in local governments and private businesses which have produced tremendous results and reduced costs significantly.
